There are a lot of channels on YouTube for fishing. There are channels offering good information for all types of fishing. One of the channels will fulfill your needs for learning or entertaining content.
If you are a beginner or less experienced angler. You need to find channels with good techniques and information. All the YouTube channels for fishing in the article. Provide good information for all levels of anglers.
YouTube uses an algorithm to rank videos. It will not always show what you need. Lacking experience and knowledge you cannot tell what is best for learning. There are channels that excel at instruction. They tend to rank lower for some reason. These people are pro anglers or have extensive experience. But will be beaten by amateurs posting a lot of videos.
The sad fact is too many channels are merely entertainment-focused. They show few or no helpful tips. In some instances, they promote bad skills or techniques. Finding the right channels is hard for people lacking fishing experience.
Bass Fishing YouTube Channels
These channels relate to how to fish for bass. They benefit the beginner to the hard-core weekend tournament and league anglers. The videos cover the basics and advanced techniques to up your bass fishing success. The channels contain content from successful professional bass anglers.
Mike Iaconelli YouTube Channel
Mike has an extensive set of playlists. He covers lure tactics with the In The Shop Series. The playlists cover how, when, where, and why to use a lure. The Fishing Tips and Tactics playlist goes into more information to make you a well-rounded bass angler. Mike knows what line, rod, and reel work well for any situation.
When you find the need for some motivation he has it covered also. The Never Give Up series covers topics related to his experiences. He tells us how to achieve a high level of bass fishing. His content has a high energy level keeping the videos fun to watch.
Brian Latimer YouTube Channel
His channel is called BLAT for short. He is a young hungry bass pro. He is an excellent teacher when showing lure set-ups and techniques. The videos cover what line, rod, and knot to use for the best results with lures. In some instances, the right tackle does make a big impact. He covers these aspects in videos.
The playlists cover more than lure techniques. He goes over finding fish through reading structure and cover. People tend to lack an understanding of the impact of cover and structure. His content includes tournament coverage tips on being a tour pro. If you are a league or lower-level tournament angler his channel will help you to move up in the standings.
Carp and Catfish Channels
The channels on catfish and carp have passionate creators. These anglers fish hard and often for the species. They spend a lot of time researching the techniques and tackle that go with carp and catfish.
Catfish and Carp
On Youtube, you will find Luke the creator of the Catfish and Carp channel. His channel is entertaining, sometimes humorous, and informational. He focuses on catfish and carp as primary species of interest. He goes on vacations adding content covering other fishing adventures.
His tips and techniques cover many topics for catfish and carp anglers. If you need to know how to make and rig baits it is covered well on the channel. He provides boat tips and gear reviews to add to your knowledge. You will find much more on the channels also.
Luke has another channel with his sons called Outdoor Boys. He shows adventure in camping, backwoods cooking, and other skills.
Hagen Grubbs Fishing
This is a good ole-boy channel about catching catfish. Hayden teaches everything you need to know to catch channel and blue catfish. The techniques work for flatheads too. He shares his knowledge of using bait properly. There are times you need to do more than cast out. He explains these times and what to do.
The channel has a lot of entertaining content. Yet, he has some of the best videos on rigging, drifting, and how to find fish. Watching the channel will expand your knowledge of catching catfish while entertaining you. Spend some time on the channel and you will learn.
Fish with Carl YouTube Channel
Fish with Carl was started years ago by him and his brother. This channel focuses on British-style carp fishing. They fish for other species but the majority of content is on carp fishing. You want to learn using method feeders, hair rigs, and all the baits associated with the techniques. This is the place to go.
He covers pack bait, boilies, and the techniques that produce carp success. The other videos cover coarse fishing for barbel and the typical fish found throughout Britain. This channel provides entertainment videos to go with the instructional content. All the content delivers value.
Musky and Pike YouTube Channels
These channels are from a few of the best guides in the upper midwest. These anglers live and breathe musky fishing. If the ice is off the water, they are out fishing. Few people have the knowledge or experience these people provide for musky anglers.
Today’s Angler YouTube Channel
The channel features Lee Tauchen and Robbie. These two musky anglers are top-level guides in the upper midwest. Lee has a line of highly effective lures for musky also. They do talk about technique and other aspects of musky fishing on the show.
The show leans toward entertainment. But provides some very good information to someone paying attention. You need to watch what they do and listen to what is said. There are some straightforward teaching videos. But the main focus is fishing videos with a few tips added to the content.
Fishing With Joe Bucher
Joe is the Grand Master of musky fishing. His channel is where to go for learning in depth about techniques and tackle. The channel has 168 videos on musky. Plus has videos on the pike, bass, and walleyes. He talks about how many techniques cross over between the species. It is putting the right location, time, and lures together for success.
Joe goes into the little things such as hooks, proper casting, and everything else. This guy will improve your fishing skills for the better. He explains why you need to do something. The videos often get into in-depth detail. A beginner will glean information that takes decades of experience to acquire.
General Fishing
General fishing covers the Youtubers. Catching a lot of different North American Freshwater fish. These are the channels with panfish, trout, catfish, bass, and other species. They offer a little of everything for the average angler. Seeking some tips and knowledge with entertaining content.
Lindner’s Angling Edge
The Lindners have been around forever it seems. The show has many guests that target most North American freshwater fish. Their content tends to be entertaining in nature with some promotions added.
The episodes with Jeremy Smith and James Lindner provide more information for the average angler. They will discuss tackle, lures, techniques, and locations in the episodes they host. I suggest paying attention to Jimmy when he talks. As an older angler with extensive experience, he slips in some great ideas and tactics.
Jermy Smith is a younger angler. Featuring areas throughout the upper midwest and Canada to fish. He is skilled at walleye, bass, catfish, and musky or pike fishing.
Wired2Fish YouTube Channel
Wired 2 fish has an extensive library of video content. The channel has a lot of hosts and targets too many to name species of fish. This channel plays with the big boys when it comes to fishing entertainment and information. They may not be as popular as the Lindner clan but are up there.
They have a playlist called Our Most Popular Fishing Tips with 108 videos. This is information to improve your skills. The site includes playlists for bass, musky, pike, and walleye, plus more. This channel is the all-around anglers’ place for fishing. It provides entertainment videos and how-to videos on everything. It is a large channel with something for everyone.
Conclusions
This is a short list of top YouTube channels for all round and species-specific angling. In the future, a few more channels will be added. It takes time to check out each channel. If there is a channel you feel is of value to anglers add it in the comment section for me to check out.
The requirements include at least 75-100 videos at a minimum. The channels need instructional content and entertainment value. If you started a channel recently.
